Decorative ladder by Rustik 122 at The Quilted Bear

Did you buy a ladder with holiday and seasonal decorations at The Quilted Bear in Salt Lake City? I have gone back to the booth several times and it is almost always empty, today they only had a few winter and fall kits.

I have wasted so much time and gas checking back every month to buy the additional kits. The store clerks told me that the booth is always empty and that the person that owns the booth actually buys the kits from a company in Japan and they can't get them anymore. I never would have bought the ladder, if I had known that the monthly kits would not be available. I have finally given up on Rustik 122 and won't be going back to that seller again.

You can see how cute the ladder would have been, if decorated with a theme for each month (right picture). I didn't have each holiday or season, so I was stuck with an empty ladder after a holiday. I have only been able to find Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Fall, and Christmas. That left 8 months when my ladder wouldn't be decorated! This is what I decided to do with my ladder, I painted the letters black to spell out HOME, made a family photo board, and painted a piece of wood black and added the phrase "established 1982" - I'm so happy with it!

  1. Hey! I came across your blog after searching for these ladder kits...the Quilted Bear in Ogden is usually stocked quite well. I'm am positive that you can still get these kits, I just purchased a spring one a couple of weeks ago. She is in the process of changing a few of the kits, but I will agree, she doesn't keep her booths stocked well at all. Anyway, at the Quilted Bear in Ogden she had a sign up with an e-mail address (I believe it was rustik122@gmail.com or rustik122@yahoo.com) you can request to be on an update list to let you know when the kits are in stock at your local Quilted Bear store. Who knows if this will work, I haven't tried it myself. I know the seasons are also sold at the Sugar and Spice store in Logan and the Quilted Bear in Provo as well as at craft boutiques (she sold at a big one in Weber County last year). I know she created a new spring one, she has a birthday kit, and the sign said she is making a Thanksgiving set. Best of Luck! :)

  3. I LIVE IN WASHINGTON STATE AND I BOUGHT ONE SPRING SET FOR THE LADDER. MY INLAWS ARE DOWN THERE AND I NEED THE 4TH OF JULY SET. I CALLED THE QUILTED BEAR AND THEY SAID THE RUSTIK 122 WAS SUPER UNRELIABLE. THEY SAID THEY NEVER KNOW WHEN SHE WILL DELIVER MORE SETS. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOME PICKED UP FOR ME WHILE I HAVE FAMILY DOWN THERE. ANY IDEAS? JENNIFER
